In a major operational success against confidence crimes in Bengaluru, officers from the Yeshwanthpur Police Station arrested two individuals on Friday for allegedly befriending women under false pretences and stealing their valuable gold ornaments.
According to law enforcement authorities, the suspects deliberately targeted female victims by building personal rapport and gaining their trust under fraudulent pretexts. Once the suspects established familiarity, they executed their plan to steal the gold jewelry worn or possessed by the victims.

Following an investigation into reported complaints, police tracked down the suspects and took them into custody on Friday. During the operation, investigators seized a substantial stash of stolen goods, including 130 grams of gold comprising both crafted gold ornaments and a gold ingot.
In addition to the gold items, officers confiscated one mobile phone linked to the operation. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the combined market value of the recovered 130 grams of gold and the seized mobile phone stands at an estimated Rs 19 lakh.
The Yeshwanthpur Police have documented the seized gold ingot, ornaments, and electronic device as central material evidence. The crackdown highlights ongoing local police efforts to dismantle deceptive theft schemes operating within the city.
