New Delhi is set to host the 13th BRICS summit from November 15‑17, 2026, bringing together leaders from the bloc’s five core members—Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa—alongside a roster of invited countries from Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the meeting, which is expected to focus on deepening economic cooperation, expanding the New Development Bank’s capital and coordinating geopolitical stances on issues such as climate change and supply‑chain resilience.
China is slated to send its largest ever representation to a BRICS summit, with roughly 400 officials spanning ministries, state‑owned enterprises and think‑tanks, underscoring Beijing’s intent to shape the agenda. President Xi Jinping will be represented by senior Vice‑Premier He Lifeng, while top diplomats and trade officials will accompany the delegation. Russia confirmed the attendance of President Vladimir Putin, who will travel to Delhi accompanied by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and a contingent of economic advisers. Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa and Brazil’s Vice‑President will also be present, alongside Indian ministers handling finance, external affairs and commerce.

Invited partners include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Kenya, Argentina and Mexico, among others. Their leaders are expected to attend as heads of state or senior ministers, reflecting the expanding outreach of the BRICS platform beyond its original five members. The summit will feature bilateral meetings, a plenary session on reforming global financial institutions and a cultural showcase highlighting India’s heritage.
