Why This Matters

By convening the BRICS leaders on its soil, India positions itself at the centre of a major multilateral platform that seeks to shape economic and geopolitical cooperation among emerging economies. The summit offers a venue for coordinated policy stances, trade initiatives and collective bargaining in global institutions and strategic and diplomatic efforts, potentially amplifying the bloc’s influence relative to traditional Western‑led forums.
