Both leaders will be hosted in the summit’s capital city, where senior officials from foreign ministries will attend to brief the heads of state on key agenda items.
India and Russia have deepened defence and energy cooperation in recent years, and the meeting is expected to review existing contracts on oil, gas and military hardware while exploring new avenues such as nuclear fuel supply and joint technology projects. Analysts note that the timing underscores Moscow’s effort to balance its strategic partnership with China by engaging New Delhi on issues ranging from regional security to the Ukraine conflict.

The dialogue will not end at the SCO gathering.
