Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha in New Delhi on Oct 7, praised flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar for thwarting an in‑flight hijacking on Sept 30 and saving over 170 lives, saying the global acclaim for the pilot shows that one day the world will talk about Made‑in‑India aircraft.
Modi said achieving such goals requires visionary policies and utmost effort, urging youth to excel from startups to sports and India to lead in disaster management, Moon missions, genetics, quantum computing, AI and top‑ranked universities, while noting the nation’s 140 crore dreams need unified effort.
