The Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister Vijay has instituted financial incentives for state athletes performing at the ongoing Asian Games 2026. Under the announced prize structure, gold medal winners will receive Rs 75 lakh, while silver and bronze medalists are slated to be awarded Rs 50 lakh and Rs 30 lakh, respectively.
Athletic performance at the Games has pushed individual totals higher for multi-medal winners. Relay gold medalist Vithya Ramraj has seen her total cumulative state reward touch Rs 1.55 crore following her victory on the track.
