On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a direct phone call; they discussed trade flows, defence arrangements, energy supplies and critical technologies, and Modi posted a brief note on X saying both sides would keep talking regularly to build on the existing comprehensive global strategic partnership.
The Prime Minister’s Office issued a matching summary adding that the leaders plan to stay in contact. Senior US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ambassador Gor, have pointed to rising cooperation across trade, defence, energy, advanced technologies and Indo-Pacific coordination.
