Speaking at a BRICS Business Council meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that as the bloc moves into its third decade, the council should prepare a report identifying the ten most significant trade barriers among member nations.
He also called for a programme to support 100 BRICS‑origin startups each year, helping them expand into other member markets, and set a target of forging a thousand new business partnerships across the group.

Modi framed the initiatives as part of a broader push to deepen intra‑BRICS trade, reduce friction, and create a more resilient supply chain, urging member governments to collaborate on implementation.
