Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated a 12‑room polyclinic at Arundhutinagar on Thursday, noting that the state has already established 1,110 Arogya Mandirs and virtually opened five additional urban centers in West Tripura district, the new facility built at a cost of Rs 2.10 crore.
Health officials report an 80 % drop in inter‑state patient referrals, from 555 in 2023 to 161 so far in 2026, illustrating the impact of expanded local services. Satellite health centres in hilly regions and the e‑Sanjivani telemedicine platform have further strengthened care delivery for remote populations.

The administration is also upgrading district and referral hospitals, deploying an Integrated Health Management System, and planning a tourism health hub, while officials such as Rajya Sabha member Rajib Bhattacharya, Mayor Dipak Majumdar and District Magistrate Vishal Kumar attended the ceremony.
The government has announced that a state‑of‑the‑art telemedicine studio will be installed at GBP Hospital, expanding remote diagnostic capacity and supporting the ongoing effort to keep patients within Tripura. Additional upgrades to district hospitals and further rollout of Arogya Mandirs are also slated, though specific timelines have not been disclosed.
