The Karnataka Tourism Department set up a flagship pavilion at the Cochin International Tourism Expo held in February 2024, highlighting the state’s heritage circuits, wildlife sanctuaries, and emerging digital‑tourism platforms. The booth featured immersive VR tours of Hampi, Coorg’s coffee estates and the coastal backwaters, attracting delegates from over 30 countries.
During the five‑day event, Karnataka officials reported signing 12 memoranda of understanding with international tour operators, airline partners and technology firms. The agreements cover joint promotional campaigns, bundled travel packages and the deployment of AI‑driven visitor analytics. The department estimates the deals could lift inbound tourist arrivals by 8‑10% over the next two years, translating into roughly ₹1,200 crore in additional revenue.

He added that the state will leverage the momentum by launching a targeted digital marketing drive and expanding community‑based tourism initiatives in rural districts, aligning with the national ‘Incredible India’ agenda.
