Senior BJP leader and Pynthorumkhrah MLA Alexander L. Hek defended the Durga Puja celebrations at RR Colony on Thursday, stating that the festival has been observed there for more than six decades and that all arrangements remain within the temple premises.
Hek, a former three-time MLA from the area, emphasized the long‑standing nature of the event, underscoring that the celebrations have been confined to the temple grounds throughout that period.
The remarks come amid ongoing discussions about public festivities and aim to reassure residents that the traditional observance continues without deviation from its original temple‑based format.
