Mira Road pensioner Asgar Ali, 81, secured the return of a parcel of land he had been contesting after a brief meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the state secretariat.
Ali had pursued the same land dispute through Maharashtra government offices for 15 years without any resolution, despite repeated applications and appeals.

The meeting, arranged after Ali reconnected with his former schoolmate Modi, led the firm associated with a BJP legislator to withdraw its claim, allowing the land to be handed back to him in a single sitting.
