The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a statewide five-day padayatra across Karnataka, scheduled to run from September 15 through September 19. The campaign is planned to cover all 224 Assembly constituencies in the state as part of a coordinated political demonstration.
The march is organised in response to a policy directive by the Karnataka state government that limits the rendition of the national song, Vande Mataram, to two verses during official state events. State BJP leadership has opposed the two-stanza restriction, demanding that the full composition be permitted during public and administrative functions.
BJP Karnataka State President B.Y. Vijayendra formally announced the campaign details, confirming that party representatives and grassroots cadres will mobilise demonstrations across every district. The statewide tour aims to raise public awareness regarding the government's protocol decision and petition for a reversal of the two-stanza limit across official state gatherings.
