The NBCC Convention Centre in Kohima became a bustling hub of high‑octane excitement and home‑grown innovation on August 28, when the TXG Expo Nagaland 2026 opened its doors. Organisers installed professional‑grade Formula 1 racing simulators that allowed visitors to take part in the F1 Sim Racing India Open Time Trials at no cost. While the free trials gave a taste of competitive sim racing, participants could also register for the full Open by paying the prescribed fee, with qualifying times feeding into a regional ladder that leads to junior and senior national championships. The event is being run by Mumbai Falcons Racing Ltd, an Indian motorsport outfit with a track record in international competition, and it will remain open at the expo until August 29, giving more enthusiasts the chance to test their skills.
Beyond the roar of virtual engines, the expo highlighted a suite of indigenous technologies. The Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing Centre, part of the Department of Planning and Transformation, displayed drones it had designed and assembled, including a hexacopter that was used for vaccine deliveries during the COVID‑19 pandemic, as well as FPV and interceptor‑style drones demonstrated live. Adjacent to this, the NagaBots stall showcased a robotic arm capable of sketching, 3D‑printed accessories, creative‑learning toy kits and a range of drone models. Founded in 2021, NagaBots runs an incubation centre and has trained more than 5,000 students in practical STEM skills, positioning itself as a catalyst for the region’s tech ecosystem.
