Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar on Tuesday inspected the under-construction permanent campus of the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities at Chak Jawala, Vijaypur, in Samba district. The Rs 24 crore facility aims to replace the centre's limited operations in Jammu city and broaden access to rehabilitation, special education, early intervention and skill development across the region.
Accompanied by Joint Secretary Rajeev Sharma and briefed by CRC Director Dr Rohnika Sharma, the minister emphasised timely completion and highlighted planned additions including a Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra for assistive devices, B Ed and M Ed disability courses, and laboratories for customised artificial limbs.
