A statewide bandh in Punjab scheduled for 15 October has prompted a bank holiday across the region. The closure affects major lenders including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and Axis Bank, which have announced that their branches may not operate on the day.
Customers are urged to verify the operational status of individual branches before visiting, as services such as cash withdrawals and cheque clearing could be limited. Authorities have also issued traffic advisories, warning of possible congestion around bank locations during the bandh.
