Nagaland Lok Sabha MP Supongmeren Jamir expressed serious concern over reports of Chinese troops allegedly entering Arunachal Pradesh, citing claims an Army jawan has gone missing. Jamir said the disappearance, if flagged by the concerned Army commander, warrants urgent attention, especially as the Centre maintains China has not encroached. He questioned the government’s response.
Warning that any deterioration in Arunachal could affect the entire Northeast, Jamir said he would raise the matter in the forthcoming Parliament session. He urged the Centre to prioritise village guards, familiar with the terrain, and deploy them alongside paramilitary forces and the BSF. The issue has been conveyed to the Government of India.
