Hyderabad In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar visited Wipro Circle in the Gachibowli IT cluster on Friday to inspect preparations for the upcoming unveiling ceremony, which is scheduled to coincide with the former leader's birth anniversary.
During the site review, Prabhakar outlined Singh's structural impact on the nation, referencing his guidance of the 1991 economic reforms as Finance Minister alongside his tenure as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. He highlighted landmark federal programs and legislative measures enacted under Singh's government, including the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the Right to Information Act, and the Right to Education Act.

The minister also noted the central role played by the UPA administration in fulfilling the demand for Telangana's statehood. He pointed to the timeline spanning from the central government's 2009 decision to the formal enactment of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act in 2014, while recalling his personal tenure as a Member of Parliament representing the Karimnagar constituency during Singh's premiership.
