The 22nd edition of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026 was inaugurated with a ceremony at Auli in Uttarakhand on September 15, marking the start of a joint tactical training program between Indian and United States armies.
The exercise is being conducted simultaneously at the Himalayan venue in Auli and the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan, involving roughly 600 personnel from each nation who are undertaking intensive drills across varied terrain.

A distinctive feature this year is the deployment of Indian Army’s indigenous Rampur Hounds, which are taking part in specialised tactical demonstrations alongside soldiers, showcasing the role of military working dogs in supporting combat operations.
