The INDIA opposition bloc has finalised plans to convene a mock Parliament at New Delhi's Ashoka Hotel on October 30, staging a symbolic impeachment proceeding against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. CPI general secretary D Raja confirmed the session will take place five days before the alliance's scheduled joint public rally on November 1.

The symbolic move signals escalating tensions between the Opposition and the Election Commission over alleged partisan conduct. No formal constitutional impeachment process has been initiated; the event is designed as political theatre to amplify the bloc's demand for electoral accountability ahead of the rally.
