More than 53,000 Anganwadis across Gujarat will host a special ‘Anganano Utsav’ programme between September 25 and October 3, with each centre holding a one‑day event. The initiative is part of the state‑wide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, launched to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life, according to a Gujarat BJP statement released on Thursday.
During the celebrations, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and helpers will be felicitated for their contributions to child development and maternal‑child health. Children attending the centres will receive fruits and assorted kits, while mothers are invited to hear simple‑language briefings on various government welfare schemes, a move the BJP says is intended to raise awareness and improve scheme delivery to families in need.

The programme will also feature activities with BJP leaders, elected representatives, members of the party’s women’s wing and other workers. Organisers say the events aim to reinforce focus on nutrition, child development, maternal health and women’s empowerment, and form part of a broader series of service‑oriented activities under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
