The Congress rally planned at Ramlila Maidan faces a new obstacle as Delhi’s vehicle restrictions take effect on November 1. The Confederation of Trade and Industry (CTI) has written to party leader Rahul Gandhi, warning that traffic diversions and the massive crowd could cripple business in nearly 20 major markets surrounding the venue. CTI urged Gandhi to postpone the gathering until after Diwali to avoid economic disruption.

Gandhi has responded that the rally will go ahead as scheduled, indicating his intention to proceed despite the concerns. The decision highlights the tension between political events and urban logistics, with the November 1 curbs now directly impacting the event’s planning and local commerce.
