A Special Executive Magistrate court in Delhi ordered the release of Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after seven days of judicial custody, granting them bail. The court rejected a Delhi Police request to extend their detention by three days, concluding that further custody was not warranted.

Das and Ranka were initially apprehended during a protest at Jantar Mantar. They were freed after providing undertakings to the court, ending their seven‑day confinement.

The ruling highlights judicial scrutiny of protest-related detentions and limits police powers to prolong custody without evidence. No further legal action has been reported against the pair.
