A brief, 30‑minute downpour that dropped about 37 mm of rain on Tuesday night triggered the outer white cement plaster on the Charminar side facing Laad Bazaar to peel away, exposing a small portion of the monument’s wall in Hyderabad’s Old City.
Security personnel at the site arrived after being alerted, cleared the fallen material and reported no injuries. An Archaeological Survey of India official confirmed that a limited section of the wall below the left minar collapsed, noting that a tender for repair work is already in process because the area had been identified as deteriorating.
