The All India Students' Association (AISA) condemned the Karnataka government's detention of SIR protesters in Bengaluru, describing it as a violation of the right to protest.

AISA pointed to what it called a contradiction in Congress’s position, noting that Rahul Gandhi has stood on barricades, broken through them and publicly defended protest rights, while the state is preventing people from exercising those same rights.

The group asked how Congress differs from the BJP on this issue, demanding clarification of the party’s stance on civil liberties.
