Citi Launches Citi Commerce Media to Sell Targeted Ads to Cardholders

Citi's U.S. card division has introduced Citi Commerce Media, an advertising platform that leverages billions of transaction data points to deliver brand ads on its app and website.

Citi is converting its insight into consumer spending into a new advertising venture by launching Citi Commerce Media. The platform draws on billions of transaction data points from the bank's U.S. card portfolio to link consumer brands directly with cardholders.

Ads will appear within Citi's mobile app and website, giving brands a channel to reach customers based on actual purchase behavior. The move marks Citi's entry into the advertising market through its card business.
