Chatham County commissioners are currently examining a set of proposed short‑term vacation rental (STVR) ordinances that would add a mandatory parking component to the licensing framework.
Under the draft rules, each short‑term rental owner would have to submit a detailed parking plan at the time of application, and the plan would need to be refreshed and resubmitted every year thereafter.

The commission says the measure is intended to address local traffic and parking concerns, but it has not yet voted on the proposal, leaving the final requirements uncertain.
