AStation debuts Cosmos mixed-reality adventure at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

AStation’s Cosmos, a mixed-reality journey from a shark tunnel to the birth of the universe, opens on 14 September at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, using Apple Vision Pro headsets.

The mixed‑reality experience Cosmos opened on 14 September at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, guiding visitors through a shark tunnel before transporting them to the birth of the universe, where stars ignite, planets form and a black‑hole edge looms, all while guests remain on solid ground amid sea life. The attraction runs on Apple Vision Pro headsets that allow untethered, free‑walking immersion.

Cosmos joins three earlier Enterverse installations at the aquarium: Dinosaur Park (opened 1 June), Shan Hai Jing (1 July) and Wonders (1 August). With all four experiences now live, the venue offers the complete Enterverse library, the world’s only large‑scale outdoor mixed‑reality platform outside Asia.

AStation CEO Chris Chen called Cosmos “the boldest, biggest swing we’ve ever taken,” noting the “infinite” visuals and guest reactions. He and Ripley’s Jim Pattison celebrated the platform’s arrival at the IAAPA Asia Expo, marking Gatlinburg, Tennessee as the first non‑Asian home for Enterverse technology.

Why This Matters

Cosmos brings the world’s only large‑scale outdoor mixed‑reality platform to the United States, showcasing how high‑end headsets can blend physical attractions with digital universes. The launch expands AStation’s global footprint, offers a new draw for Ripley’s Aquarium visitors, and signals broader commercial adoption of immersive tech beyond Asian markets.
