Tech Mahindra announced the rollout of its Zero Gravity Telco Architecture™ (ZGTA) on Sept 9, 2026 in Pune, positioning the new framework as a catalyst for telecom operators seeking to transition to fully autonomous, AI-native networks. The architecture is paired with an AI-readiness diagnostic tool that evaluates a service provider’s current capabilities and outlines a roadmap to achieve trusted, self‑optimising operations.
The ZGTA model redefines traditional telco stack layers by decoupling hardware constraints and embedding AI at the core of network functions, orchestration, and service delivery. According to the company, this approach reduces latency, improves resource utilisation, and enables real‑time decision‑making across the value chain, from radio access to core transport.

Tech Mahindra highlighted that the diagnostic assesses five pillars – data governance, model management, edge compute readiness, security posture, and operational agility – assigning a maturity score that guides investment priorities. Early adopters, including several Indian and Asian carriers, are slated to pilot the framework later this quarter, with full deployments expected by 2028.
Industry analysts note that the move aligns with a broader shift toward AI-native telco ecosystems, where network functions are increasingly software‑defined and capable of self‑healing. The Zero Gravity architecture also promises interoperability with existing 5G infrastructure while laying groundwork for future 6G use cases, such as immersive XR services and massive IoT deployments.
Tech Mahindra’s CEO, CP Gurnani, emphasized that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to “building trusted foundations for autonomous operations,” and that the firm will offer consulting, integration, and managed services to support carriers through each phase of the transformation.
