HyperVault, a specialized subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has formally secured 264 acres of land in Hyderabad, Telangana, to develop a massive 1 Gigawatt (1GW) artificial intelligence data center campus. The landmark land acquisition represents one of the largest physical infrastructure deals in the region, tailored specifically to serve the skyrocketing compute requirements of global hyperscalers and frontier artificial intelligence enterprises.
Total capital expenditure for the new facility is projected to reach up to ₹70,000 crore, making it a pivotal investment in India's technology hardware and data architecture landscape. By acquiring a consolidated footprint of 264 acres, HyperVault intends to construct specialized high-density power delivery frameworks and thermal management systems capable of hosting next-generation graphics processing unit (GPU) clusters and intensive machine learning operations.

The choice of Hyderabad highlights the city's growing prominence as a major technological center in South Asia, sustained by expanding utility networks and localized enterprise demand. The strategic push represents an important evolution for parent company TCS, extending its legacy IT consulting, managed services, and software integration model into heavy digital physical assets. By operating a dedicated subsidiary focused on gigawatt-scale data infrastructure, the group positions itself to capture high-margin hosting and facility management opportunities generated by the rapid proliferation of generative AI tools.
Beyond its immediate commercial target, the 1GW campus aligns with broader efforts in Telangana to attract long-term technology investments and create specialized industrial zones for deep-tech facilities. As land acquisition details are finalized, the project shifts toward initial site engineering, power distribution setup, and tenant allocation strategies necessary to bring the multi-stage compute park into operational readiness.
