RoboParty unveiled RP1, a high-performance full-stack open-source bipedal humanoid, at IROS 2026 on September 28. The robot demonstrated dynamic balance recovery in a "Kick Me" demo, withstanding disturbances through PartyOS and UFO, an unsupervised reinforcement-learning framework. RP1 delivers 160 N•m peak joint torque via in-house Romomo actuators and real-time motion control.
The company pledges to open motion-control systems, simulation environments, SDKs, training tools, and the PartyOS foundation — not just mechanical files. Founder Yi Huang called it an open foundation for developers to access, modify, and improve. The core team spans Tsinghua's Yao Class, Peking University's Zhi Class, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and other institutions, supporting a 5,000-member global community.
