Interswitch Unveils TechConnect 6.0 in Owerri, Launches Nationwide Roadshow

Interswitch kicked off its TechConnect 6.0 series in Owerri, focusing on adaptive financial infrastructure, with public‑private panels and a roadshow to Abuja, Ibadan and Lagos in October.

Interswitch launched the sixth edition of its TechConnect series on Thursday at the Protea Hotel in Owerri, Imo State, gathering government, financial services, technology and business leaders to discuss how Nigeria can build stronger, more adaptable digital infrastructure for a rapidly evolving economy. The event, themed “Built for What’s Next: Designing Adaptive Financial Infrastructure for a Dynamic Market,” highlighted the need for systems that can keep pace with shifting consumer behaviour and emerging technologies.

Vice President of Business Innovation and Growth Tyoyila Aga stressed that flexibility must be central to technology deployment, saying infrastructure should be scalable, interoperable, secure and resilient. The Owerri session featured a keynote by Justice Okoye, Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service, and a panel titled “Driving Digital Transformation Through Public‑Private Partnerships.” Panelists included Dr. Kalu Nnachi of Zikora Microfinance Bank, Celestine Obiosa Uzor of Premise2Cloud ICT Solutions, Emmanuel Alozie of the Abia State Internal Revenue Service, and Aga himself, with moderation by Faith Ukpai of Interswitch. Discussions covered interoperability, cybersecurity, data protection and system resilience.

TechConnect 6.0 will continue its multi‑city roadshow, moving to Abuja on October 8, Ibadan on October 22 and concluding in Lagos on October 27. By bringing the dialogue to Nigeria’s major commercial and governmental hubs, the series aims to foster collaborative solutions that support sustainable digital transformation across public and private sectors.

Why This Matters

The forum gives policymakers, regulators and fintech firms a coordinated platform to shape standards and partnerships essential for secure, scalable financial infrastructure, directly influencing revenue collection, service delivery and future digital services across Nigeria.
