DDCA Unveils Upgraded LED Perimeter Displays at Arun Jaitley Stadium for India-Afghanistan T20I

Delhi cricket body installs enhanced LED perimeter boards at Arun Jaitley Stadium during second India-Afghanistan T20I, calling it a visible transformation for fans and viewers.

The Delhi & District Cricket Association rolled out enhanced LED perimeter displays at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday as the venue hosted the second match of the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, marking what the association described as a visible transformation of the ground's visual presentation.

Conceptualised under the DDCA president's leadership, the upgraded boards are designed to deliver a more uniform and striking display around the oval, aiming to modernise the in-stadium experience for spectators and sharpen the broadcast feed for television audiences.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first, making one enforced change to their XI with leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi replacing Varun Chakaravarthy, who was ruled out with a side strain. Afghanistan named an unchanged side from the opener as the hosts looked to seal the series with a game to spare.

The opening T20I saw Afghanistan recover from a top-order collapse through an 83-run partnership between Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi to post 156, but India chased the target down comfortably behind Abhishek Sharma's explosive 82 off 32 balls, while the home bowlers kept the visitors under sustained pressure throughout the innings.

Why This Matters

The LED upgrade signals DDCA's push to bring Arun Jaitley Stadium's infrastructure in line with modern broadcast standards, directly enhancing the product for rights holders and the in-venue crowd. For a board that has faced criticism over facilities in the past, a visible, match-day-ready improvement strengthens its case for hosting high-profile ICC and IPL fixtures, while also setting a benchmark for other state associations to modernise perimeter advertising and fan engagement technology.
