The first look of Balaji Tharaneetharan’s new Tamil film ‘Baththa’ was unveiled today as Vijay Sethupathi shared the trailer link on his X timeline, confirming the film’s October 1, 2026 worldwide theatrical launch. The project stars Sethupathi opposite Lijomol Jose and is presented by director Atlee, with music composed by Sai Abhyankkar.
The trailer juxtaposes the mythic reputation of Baththa—a ruffian said to have broken ribs, torn prison gates open and kept a lion as a pet—with intimate moments known only to his wife and daughter. A humorous wedding‑night scene shows Baththa singing while his terrified wife quips, “I will not be scared if you don’t sing,” highlighting the character’s softer, caring side.
