The India Meteorological Department has issued a very heavy rainfall warning for South Interior districts of Karnataka on October 18, triggering an orange weather alert across the state. This comes as the northeast monsoon continues to drive sustained wet conditions.

Additional severe weather warnings include thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls across all three sub-divisions, bringing gusty winds alongside the heavy showers. Residents are urged to prepare for prolonged wet weather through October 24.
