Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC), the state-owned mining major, has scheduled its 63rd Annual General Meeting for September 30, 2026. The meeting will be conducted through video conferencing, in line with the remote-participation framework that Indian listed companies have routinely adopted in recent years for shareholder gatherings.
Alongside the AGM notice, GMDC has released its Annual Report for the financial year 2025-26 to shareholders. The circulation of the annual report is a mandatory regulatory step under the Companies Act and Sebi listing obligations, providing shareholders the audited financials, directors' report and governance disclosures needed to evaluate the company's performance before casting votes at the AGM.

GMDC, headquartered in Ahmedabad, is one of India's largest state-owned mineral producers, with operations spanning lignite, bauxite, fluorspar, manganese and silica sand. The company plays a central role in Gujarat's industrial energy supply chain, particularly feeding thermal power generation through its lignite mines in Kutch and South Gujarat.
Holding the AGM via video conferencing allows shareholders from across India to participate without travelling to the registered office, a practice codified by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs through its 2020 framework and retained by most public sector undertakings (PSUs). The September 30 date places the meeting well within the statutory window that companies must observe for conducting annual general meetings.
With the annual report now in the hands of shareholders, attention will shift to the agenda items to be taken up at the September 30 meeting. These typically include adoption of audited financial statements, declaration of dividend, appointment of directors, ratification of auditor appointments and approval of any related-party transactions or material agreements disclosed in the report.
