Delhi logs month’s coldest morning at 17.1°C; AQI likely to worsen

Delhi’s 17.1°C month-to-date low comes with an October 21 air-quality outlook shaped by adverse weather and ongoing stubble burning.

Delhi recorded the month’s lowest minimum temperature at 17.1°C, while the maximum reached 31.7°C. The city’s Air Quality Index was moderate at the time of reporting, but the forecast cited by Jagran English points to poorer conditions ahead.

From October 21, the AQI is expected to turn poor. Unfavourable meteorological conditions and ongoing stubble-burning events are cited as the reasons for the expected deterioration. The outlook therefore combines the month’s lowest minimum so far with the AQI moving from moderate to poor, rather than sustained improvement.
