The Delhi High Court has issued a directive seeking status reports from Delhi University and the Delhi Police concerning alleged incidents of violence, vandalism and unauthorized entry that occurred during the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) election period.
The bench cautioned that if the institutions fail to furnish a satisfactory account of the actions taken, the court may impose a stay on the counting of votes and the declaration of election results.

In its order, the court underscored the importance of safeguarding democratic student elections, signalling that any compromise to the electoral process could trigger judicial intervention.
