The Chief Justice of India and student organisations have announced daily marches to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation or removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged voter‑list manipulation.

The declaration follows the detention of more than 1,500 individuals in the capital, a development that has intensified calls for action. Human rights groups have expressed concern over the scale of arrests.

Separately, the INDIA political bloc has scheduled its own protest, urging electoral reforms and action on alleged vote theft, adding further pressure on election authorities.
