Ahmedabad LCB Arrests Three for Phone Snatching, Online Fraud Via Flipkart Minutes

Ahmedabad's Local Crime Branch Zone-8 arrested three men on Saturday for allegedly snatching mobile phones from night walkers and using stored financial data to make online purchases via the Flipkart Minutes app.

The accused — Harshil Vaghela, 19, Mohammad Sharif, 20, and Shahidkhan Pathan, 19, all from Vatva — were intercepted on two two-wheelers after CCTV analysis linked them to snatching routes between New Maninagar and Vastral RTO Road. Police recovered 15 phones worth Rs 4.66 lakh, a scooter and a motorcycle.

The investigation detected seven cases across Ramol, Narol, Isanpur and Maninagar stations under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 304(2) and 54. Mohammad Sharif has a prior case at Narol under the same provisions.
