Indian equities rallied sharply on Thursday, with the Sensex climbing 905 points and the Nifty 50 advancing 1.05 per cent to close at 22,936.75. The gains were driven by the US Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates unchanged, a slight dip in crude oil prices, and renewed buying by institutional investors.

The broad-based advance reflected improved risk appetite after the Fed's pause eased concerns over aggressive tightening. Market participants noted that softer oil prices provided additional relief for India's import bill, while institutional inflows signaled returning confidence in domestic growth prospects.
