The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has set up a working group to review the regulations that govern initial public offerings, follow‑on public offerings, rights issues and preferential allotments.

The group’s mandate is to simplify compliance, remove overlapping provisions and sharpen regulatory clarity, aligning with broader reforms that also target disclosure norms, SME public listings and fund‑utilisation monitoring.

By streamlining these rules, the regulator aims to make capital‑raising procedures more efficient for issuers and clearer for market participants.
