ECB Calls on Online and Mobile Merchants to Join Digital Euro Pilot

The European Central Bank has opened a digital euro pilot to online and mobile merchants, offering them a chance to test a simulated digital currency ecosystem.

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the European Central Bank announced that online and mobile merchants are invited to take part in a digital euro pilot, extending the call to participants across the euro area.

The pilot is designed to let merchants work directly with the ECB and national central banks, giving them firsthand experience of a simulated digital euro ecosystem and an opportunity to shape its development.
