The meetings, scheduled for the next two weeks, will feature presentations by the city’s Public Works Director and representatives from the California Department of Transportation, followed by a Q&A period.
Project planners describe the corridor upgrade as a $45 million effort to widen key lanes, add protected bike lanes, upgrade sidewalks, and improve storm‑water drainage. The design aims to alleviate chronic congestion, enhance pedestrian safety and support transit‑oriented development along the corridor, with construction slated to begin after final design approval.

Community feedback is being solicited on issues such as tree preservation, parking impacts for local merchants, and the timing of construction phases.
